Thimphu to Punakha - Ancient Capital

Morning drive through pristine forests to Punakha Valley (1,250m). Visit Punakha Dzong, the winter residence of the monastic body and considered Bhutan's most beautiful fortress. Chimi Lhakhang (Divine Madman's Temple), the fertility temple dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kunley. Walk across the dramatic Punakha Suspension Bridge over the Mo Chhu River. Visit rice fields and rural villages to see traditional farming life. Optional rafting on Mo Chhu River (seasonal). Transfer back to Paro for departure with incredible memories.
