You can visit Bhutan without trekking. Most of the west circuit is a scenic drive with short walks at dzongs. Tiger’s Nest is the steep one: about four to six hours if you go to the monastery, at about 3,120 m. Horses are available for the first part of that climb, and many guests stop at the viewpoint instead of the full ascent.
Trips that stay gentle
- Classic Cultural Journey — Thimphu, Punakha, and Paro at a comfortable pace
- Himalayan Wellness Retreat — slower mornings and hot-stone baths
- Private Meditation Retreat — quiet days, few transfers
- Bumthang Spiritual Retreat — temples in the central valleys, not a high pass
Tell us who is walking, who wants the viewpoint only, and any stairs that are a problem. We set the driving days and the hotel locations around that. Festival seating and the India road trip can be planned the same way: festival dates and tours from India.
